Legislation ( The Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector ( England ) Regulations 2020 ) Overview

This Legislation has been introduced to raise the standards of electrical safety within Private Rented Accommodation.

From 1st July 2020, all new tenancies will require an Electrical Safety Check to have been completed.

From 1st April 2021, all tenancies will require a Electrical Safety Check to have been completed.

Non compliance with the Legislation can lead to fines from the Local Authority up to £30,000 and multiple fines where there are multiple issues of non compliance.
